Only my second manicure of 2014–Sally Hansen Xtremewear in Fuchsia Power with Seche Vita topcoat
Fourth of July!
4 JulI love holidays. I love holiday celebrations and decorations and everything else that goes with them. So for the Fourth of July, which just happens to have been my favorite holiday since childhood, I’ve decided I want to do it up this year! My first order of business is, of course, my nails. I got some inspiration from Pinterest and went to work!
This manicure was done using gel polish. I just so happen to have the Red Carpet Manicure gel polish system/set/ kit/whatever and I figured now was as good of time as any to whip it out. Though I have the gel red (it came with the kit), I decided to do a “gelly sandwich” where I use regular polish in between the gel base and top coats.
This is how my version turned out:
I was being rushed and didn’t have time to draw the heart, but I may do it later!
What do you think??
Nails of The Week! Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Beige Blast
29 DecThis post is a lil’ bit late, as I am about to switch out my polish, but better late than never, right?
First of all, I really, really like the color itself and how it looks on my hands. It’s a true beige as opposed to being an off-white. Also, I like that it can be applied until it’s opaque. I picked this color to be my Christmas color because it reminded me of a sweater I got for christmas a few years ago. However, I’m kind of disappointed in it L. Until now, I had never worn an Insta-Dri polish that I didn’t absolutely love. I polished at least 3 coats of this over a RCM base. I probably used more coats on some nails, but I lost count after 3. The application was streaky and uneven causing me to keep going over the same nail multiple times. This lead to longer drying time which lead to nicks and smudges. I just wish it were easier for me to apply it. Ah, well. I like the color so I will probably try it again in the future.
